This April, lap up the action at the 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships as 
Australia’s greatest swimmers compete for their place at the World Championships.

Come for the food, stay for the swimming. We’ve got 5 days of entertainment at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre with heaps of action in and out of the pool.

Centre Lane

Open every day from 9:30am and every evening from 5:30pm. 

Heats
Cheer on your favourite swimmers as they swim for a spot in our evening finals. There’s action in the pool every day from 11am.

Finals
Don’t miss our athletes as they swim to secure their spot on our World Championships teams heading to Hungary and Mexico. There’s action in the pool every evening from 7:30pm.

Key changes are as follows:

  • Night 3: Event 34, Men's 100m Breaststroke has moved forward in the program to run between events 30, Women's 50m Backstroke, and Event 31, Women's 50m Butterfly.

Team Leaders Notes & Coaches Timeline

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE TO EVENT 34 ON NIGHT 3 OF THE COACHES TIMELINE

Please note that there will be no Team Leaders Meeting for the 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships. Please read the below notes and if you have any further questions please contact one of the Events Team when you arrive at the venue. 

Accreditation

Accreditation passes provide approved personnel with access to the pool pre-meet training and all competition sessions. 
 
Swimming Australia will not be implementing photos on accreditation passes for this event. All entrants and purchasers of club packages will be provided with a personalised accreditation pass when they present to the accreditation desk prior to entering the venue.
 
Accreditation must be carried at all times during the event to allow approved personnel to access areas of the venue.

Club Staff Pack Applications are now closed. If you still require a pass, the cost of a late pass is $170 for coaches and team managers and $100 for support staff (physios, massage and other professionals). You can apply here:

LATE CLUB STAFF PACK APPLICATION

Club Staff Pack applications must be lodged using the Swimming Australia online application form which is now open.
 
Coach, support staff and manager passes will only be issued to those persons listed on the online application form and accompanied by a fee as listed in the application form. A list of all personnel who have successfully applied for a club staff pack will be provided on the event webpage one week prior to the application closing date.

It is the responsibility of the Club to ensure any applicant stating affiliation to their club is in fact an approved representative with the requisite background checks in place by checking the above mentioned list.
 
It is the responsibility of the club secretary to ensure that club staff packs for coaches, team managers and support staff are lodged online prior to applications closing. Please check the list mentioned above to ensure your club has purchased all of their required club packages.
 
Club packages requested after the close of entries are subject to approval by Swimming Australia and will be charged at a cost of $170.00 each.

ASADA ELearning is a free and easy-to-use online education tool developed by ASADA
More than 10,000 people from across the sporting community have accessed a variety of learning options offered by ASADA eLearning.

It provides everyone with the opportunity to learn about the key areas of anti-doping such as prohibited substances and methods, therapeytic use exemptions, doping control and whereabouts.

By completing the course people will build personal awareness of their anti-doping obligations as athletes or support personal.

The course is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (a high-speed internet connection is recommended).

VOLUNTEER AT THE 2017 HANCOCK PROSPECTING AUSTRALIAN  SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Be part of #OurTeam by becoming a volunteer at the 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships in Brisbane.

With 5 days of swimming, the event is jam packed with action in and out of the pool. We’ve got some exciting roles on offer and lots of rewards for being part of #OurTeam. You’ll gain new skills and practice old ones, meet new people and make industry contacts, be part of a fast-paced and energetic environment and, most importantly, have fun!

As a thank you, we’ll give you a Swimming Australia gift and a formal reference at the end of the event, as well as an invitation to our thank you lunch at the end of the event.

WHAT DAYS ARE AVAILABLE?

2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships
We’ll need volunteers every day between Sunday 9th and Thursday 13th April. We also need a few helping hands between Friday 7th and Saturday 8th April to assist with set up and the pre-meet for athletes.
Morning sessions take place between 9am and 1:30pm.  Evening sessions take place between 5pm and 11pm.
Every volunteer will need to be available for a briefing session on Wednesday 5th April (evening).

2017 Georgina Hope Foundation Australian Age Swimming Championships
We’re also looking for volunteers for our upcoming 2017 Georgina Hope Foundation Australian Age Swimming Championships, which are taking place between Friday 14th and Sunday 23rd April.
Morning sessions take place between 7am and 12pm.  Evening sessions take place between 4pm and 8:30pm.
Every volunteer will need to be available for a briefing session on Friday 14th April (evening).  Unless you have already volunteered for Champs, the preceding event.
 

LOCATION OF EVENTS

Both events are taking place at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler.

TAKING CARE OF YOU

As a volunteer you will get:
  • an exclusive event shirt
  • event access for your shift day
  • car parking for your shift day
  • a meal and water during each shift

As an added bonus, for our volunteers, throughout the events we will be giving extra ticket giveaways!
