Aquatic Strategy

One of the key ingredients required for swimming to be a strong and progressive sport is access to suitable facilities and water space. Swimming Australia acknowledges these elements within the 2014-2020 Strategic Plan and identifies facilities access as an enabler for its high performance, community sport and commercial endeavors.

The goal of the facilities unit is "to underpin the growth and enhancement of the sport through facility and water space access." Therefore Swimming Australia seeks to have an inclusive role in facility planning to ensure pool design continues to consider competition and training needs. Swimming Australia also seeks to influence the management mechanisms that deliver water space access for Clubs and swimming programs as this is a vital aspect for the sport to achieve partnerships.

Information has been prepared to assist Clubs and Facility owners and operators to further enhance relationships and to support the provision and access to water space.
