What is something interesting about yourself?

I wanted to be a ballerina when I was a kid

What are your hobbies outside of Swimming?

During training I like reading, sleeping or any low energy activity. When I’m on a break I like hiking, bush walking or going to the beach

What's your specialty in the kitchen?

Anything breakfast related

Describe your ideal day off

Definitely starts with a sleep-in, followed by breakfast with friends and then a trip to the beach.

What do you want to do after Swimming?

Something that combines my interest in the media industry with my love of sport.


Member of the 4x100m freestyle team that won Gold and set a New World Record, won Gold and set new Games Record in the 50m freestyle at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. 

Broke the world record in the women's 100m freestyle by 0.01 of a second at the Grand Prix in Brisbane July 2016. Cate Clocked a time of 52.06

Cate set a new world record as part of the 4x100m freestyle relay team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She was crowned world champion in the 100m freestyle at the 2013 Barcelona World Championships and part of the gold medal winning 4x100m freestyle relay team at the London Olympic Games.

With her younger sister Bronte, they were the first Australian siblings to qualify for the same swimming event at an Olympic Games in 2012.

Cate made her Olympic debut at the age of 16 in 2008.
