In 2001 Matthew Dunn wrapped up his professional career as a three-time Olympian and four-time World Record holder. On top of four Commonwealth Games gold medals, the freestyle and medley swimmer was a short course specialist - collecting 10 World Short Course medals.
Competing at five Pan Pacific Championships, Dunn finished with 12 medals – making him one of Australia’s most decorated Pan Pacific Championship swimmers.
At his first Championships in 1991, Dunn walked away with a Bronze in the 400IM. Two years later he returned to the meet and won Gold in both the 200m and 400m individual medley along with Silver in the 4x100m and 4x200m Freestyle relays.
At the 1995 Atlanta Pan Pacs, Dunn claimed Gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay, silver in the 200m IM and Bronzer in the 400m IM. The 1997 meet saw return to the top of the podium in the 200m and 400m medleys.
At his final Championships in 1999, Dunn finished with Gold in the 400m IM and Silver in the 200m IM.
