Swimming Australia mourns the passing of Judy Joy Davies

Swimming Australia mourns the death of Dual Olympian Judith Joy Davies who sadly passed away on Easter Sunday aged 87.

On behalf of the wider swimming community we would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Judith’s family and friends.

A valued team member of both the 1948 and 1952 Australian Olympic Team, an Olympic bronze medallist, and three-time Empire and Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Judy was inducted into the Sport Hall of Fame in December 2011.

An inspiring woman and an inspiring sporting career; the induction came off the back of an incredible career as a sports journalist where Judy covered nine Olympic Games from 1956 onwards.

Judy’s funeral service planned for Tuesday 5 April at 10:00am at W D Rose chapel at 139 Marriage Road Brighton East.
