Achievements
Learning to swim when she was just four years old, McConnell (S9) was first selected to represent Australia at the 2010 Arafura Games in Darwin. Since her maiden appearance, she has gone on to compete at the World Para Championships, the Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Para Championships and the Paralympics. The 23-year-old had a successful 2016 campaign, taking home a gold medal in Rio and setting a new world record with her teammates in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay (34 points). Most recently, she was part of the Women’s 4x50m Freestyle Relay team who claimed silver at the 2018 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships in Cairns, Australia. A Victorian, McConnell trains under Sebastian Bettiol.
