Achievements
Affectionately known as ‘Scooter’, Grant Patterson hails from Cairns and has been swimming competitively since 2007. His first appearance representing Australia was at the Arafura Games where he won two gold medals and one bronze medal. Since then Patterson has competed at multiple IPC World Championships, Para Pan Pacs and the London 2012 Paralympics. With his performances only getting better with age and experience, the self-confessed knitter racked up three gold and one silver medal at the 2018 Para Pan Pacs in his hometown of Cairns.
In 2014 Patterson also won Swimming Australia’s ‘Paralympic Program Swimmer of the Year’.
