Achievements

In 2016 McLoughlin came of age on the international stage after qualifying for the Rio Olympics in the Men’s 1500m Freestyle. Originally a middle-distance freestyler in his junior years, the early-career athlete won gold in the Men’s 200m Freestyle at the 2013 Youth Olympics. In 2018 he picked up a pair of gold medals, one in the Men’s 400m Freestyle at the Pan Pacific Championships and another in the Men’s 1500m Freestyle at the Commonwealth Games. He competed at the 2019 World Championship and made the Olympic team for Tokyo to mark his second Olympic appearance.
