Ricky Betar

Swimming under Clinton Camilleri at Auburn Swim Club in New South Wales, Ricky Betar has been swimming since he was 10 years old. Excelling from an early age, the young gun has notched up countless medals at National Age Championships and local swim meets.

Most recently he took home five medals at the national champs and broke an INAS world record for the 50m freestyle in the process. The 15-year-old claimed silver in the 200m Freestyle Multi-Class and 100m Backstroke Multi-Class, and bronze in the 200m Individual Medley, 50m Freestyle Multi-Class and 100m Freestyle Multi-Class. However, it was his time of 1:02.03 in the 100m backstroke which earned him a cap on his maiden Dolphins team for the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships. At the Champs he took home a bronze medal as part of the 4x100m freestyle relay (S14).
