Achievements

Describing himself as funny, humble and fast, Nudgee College swimmer William Martin has overcome his share of challenges to be able to represent Australia on the international stage. The young swimmer pulled on the green and gold in London for the World Para Swimming Championships after a string of solid performances at the selection event – the Australian Swimming Champs. Training under David Proud in Queensland, the butterfly specialist currently holds the World Record for the S9 100m fly after clocking an impressive 58.28 at the Australian Multi-Class Swimming Champs on the Gold Coast in April, 2021. Making his first Paralympic team, Martin will head to Tokyo to compete at the Games in August.
