Australian Open Water Swimming Championships Moves Further North

12 February 2021

Swimming Australia wishes to advise its 2021 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships have been relocated to the Oz Ski Resort in Coolum, approximately 20 minutes north of Lake Kawana.

The two-day event remains scheduled for Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March, and will follow the same event program which was released on 14 January.

Swimming Australia’s Open Water Performance Manager, Greg Shaw, apologised to those planning on attending the event for the shift in venue.

“We’d like to apologise to participants and their families if this change in venue has impacted their plans, however, with Coolum only around 20 minutes north of the previous location, we sincerely hope it’s not too much of an inconvenience,” Shaw said.

“If there’s anything 2020 has taught us, it’s that we are constantly being presented with challenges and need to adapt and be flexible. We thank the open water swimming community for their continued support and look forward to hosting a terrific event in Coolum.”
