Dolphins head to finals on day two of World Short Course

Day two of competition in Hangzhou at the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) saw Bond’s Alex Graham, the women’s 4x50m medley relay and the mixed 4x50m freestyle relay all through to tonight’s finals.

Graham (1:41.83) came home first in his heat of the men’s 200m freestyle to qualify fastest heading into tonight’s final, with Jack Gerrard (Melbourne Vicentre) swimming 1:44.60 to put him in 14th place.

Carla Buchanan (Acacia Bayside) swam a 53.82 to put her through to the semi-finals of the women’s 100m freestyle tonight.

Nic Brown (UWA West Coast) placed fifth in his heat of the men’s 100m butterfly, placing him 20th  overall, missing a spot in tonight’s semi-finals.

The women’s 4x50m medley relay heats saw Minna Atherton (Brisbane Grammar), Jess Hansen (Nunawading), Holly Barratt (Rockingham) and Carla Buchanan (Acacia Bayside) qualify sixth for the final tonight in a time of 1:47.49.

The mixed 4x50m freestyle relay comprising of Cam McEvoy (TSS Aquatic), Cam Jones (St Peter’s Western), Emily Seebohm (Brisbane Grammar) and Barratt finished second in their heat in 1:30.12 to qualify third fastest going into the medal race tonight.
