To celebrate the revamped GOswim program, Swimming Australia and Belgravia Leisure held swim clinics across four states on Saturday for more than 200 children.
Retired and current members of the Dolphins swim team, including Matthew Temple, Matt Levy, Monique Murphy and Brittany Elmslie were on hand to take photos, sign autographs and assist children at Noarlunga Leisure Centre in SA, WaterMarc in VIC, Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre in QLD and Whitlam Leisure Centre in NSW.
The partnership between Swimming Australia and Belgravia Leisure will see the organisations jointly deliver the exciting GOswim program, which has a focus on fun, activity-based learning, and provides ongoing encouragement to inspire a lifelong love of swimming.
Fresh from her World Para Championships’ campaign, Dolphins leader Murphy said she thoroughly enjoyed the clinic she attended in Queensland, which put smiles on many young faces.
“I love giving back to the sport I’m passionate about, so I jumped at the opportunity to head down to my local pool and be involved in the GOswim launch,” she said.
"I remember doing my own learn to swim classes and always loved swimming with friends.
"The GOswim program has a great focus on community and friendships along with developing vital water safety skills and confidence.
"The medals each child receives when they complete a squad are fantastic and it was wonderful to see their excitement at having their hard work rewarded."
