Stubblety-Cook

Bio

OAM athlete, Zac Stubblety-Cook first made his professional debut for Swimming Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Aussie powerhouse won his first international medal later that year at the Pan-Pacific Championships. A silver in the 200m breaststroke.

Although, it was his performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that set him apart from his competition. Coming from behind in the 200m breaststroke, Stubblety-Cook pulled a miraculous performance in the finals to charge home for a gold medal. This made Zac the third athlete to have won an Olympic gold in this category. Previously Ian O’Brien in 1964.

2022 was another successful year for Stubblety-Cook. This is evident by the fact that he set a world record in May for his 200m breaststroke. Not to mention, his gold medal performance at the World Championships followed by another 2 gold’s at the Commonwealth Games.

Swimming Australia hasn’t seen a breaststroke athlete like Zac in decades and it will certainly be exciting to watch him build his statistic line over the next coming years.
