The High Performance Pathways Program is designed to support athletes, support staff and coaches across the Olympic Pool, Open Water and Paralympic disciplines.
The High Performance Pathway process includes:
- The engagement of stakeholders to increase participation and create a strong foundation for the Performance Pathway in all three disciplines
- The identification of athletes, coaches and support staff with the potential to contribute to Olympic and Paralympic medal outcomes in LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032
- The development of identified athletes, coaches and support staff with the knowledge, experiences, skills, techniques and competitive IQ to perform when it matters.
- The transition of athletes, coaches and support staff via specialised development experiences so they seamlessly step onto senior teams. This is achieved through a series of performance designed initiatives to support and fast-track development of all and high levels of performance in and out of the water.
Key actions include:

- Implement learning opportunities and experiences supported by follow up debriefs and monitoring by experiences coaches and performance support to ensure desired learning objectives are achieved.
- Work effectively with our partners to ensure the development of identified coaches, swimmers and Performance Support staff.
- Deliver NextGen Camps focused on the development of coaches, swimmers and staff to be Dolphin ready, preparing swimmers capable of international performance, especially in form events (breaststroke, butterfly & backstroke).
- Provide targeted and purposeful international competition experiences focused on learning and developing the performance processes necessary to perform an international stage.
- Identified and targeted programs to develop female coaches, especially early career female coaches to support their career path into high performance.
