Paralympic Champion pens iSwim workout

13 March 2019

Competing at an international level for more than a decade, Paralympic and Para Pan Pac Champion Ellie Cole has added another achievement to her already lengthy resume – creating her iSwim workout, the ‘Cole Classic’.

Set against the clear waters of the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre – the pool itself played host to the Commonwealth Games in 2006 – Cole shares her inspirational story in iSwim’s fourth workout instalment.

“I had an unconventional start to my swimming career,” Cole said.

“I was really sick as a young kid and lost my leg to cancer, and for me swimming was a way to rehabilitate my body.”

With six Paralympic gold medals to her name, the Victorian is one of Australia’s most decorated para athletes.

Sharing her signature workout, Cole’s program can be tailored for those at an easy, intermediate or advanced level of fitness.

The 27-year-old specifically designed her workout session to be inclusive, so swimmers of all abilities can enjoy her program.

“For me swimming has been a really important part of my life; at school carnivals I could just dive in and be exactly the same as any other kid.”

Providing an intense workout for users, the now Sydneysider shares an exclusive glimpse into her training regime in the lead up to 2019 World Para Swimming Championships and the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
