World Record holder and Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Shayna Jack, is the latest Australian Dolphin to share her inside knowledge to iSwim’s training programs.
Jack’s session, titled ‘Shayna’s Sprint Session’, has been developed for a fast-paced, high-intensity, sprinter-centric workout.
The Pan Pacs gold medallist wants to get you ‘whipped into shape’ during the first session, with drills designed to improve the essentials of sprinting before progressing to a fast-paced main set.
Whilst Jack’s program is designed for a more intensive workout and higher level of fitness, the 20-year-old also offers alternatives for the beginner swimmer. These abridged versions of the workout throws in the occasional challenge so you can really push yourself and improve your fitness.
"The best thing about being a sprinter, is that our training is short, but the intensity is high."
“If you throw this session in one out of five times, it’s really going to get your endorphins up and endorphins make you happy,” Jack said.
Jack recently competed at the 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide, where here sprint training has proved successful, racking up a selection of medals in the freestyle sprints and relays.
