Splash Series

Splash n' Dash

Australia Swims ambassador Andrew ‘Reidy’ Reid will once again act as a major organiser and sponsor for the Bondi Lifeguards ‘Splash Series’ encompassing 3 major events designed to bring the community together and celebrate swimming at some of Sydney’s beautiful locations.

With summer fast approaching the events serve as a great way to kick-off the warmer season, meet some new people and get active at the same time. Starting with the Bondi Splash N’ Dash on November 24th, followed by the Sydney Harbour Splash on January 28th and finishing up with the Manly Splash N’ Dash on April 21st, the Splash series proudly partners with local charities for each location helping raise funds and awareness for deserving causes.

Each event has different distances open, ranging from a 700m Splash N’ Dash up to a 5km swim (Sydney Harbour only) with categories specifically for the youngsters so they can get involved. Reidy and his friends want you to be in the best shape possible for the events and will be running free training sessions for those in the local Bondi area in the lead up to the Splash N’ Dash. For those who aren’t near Bondi or can’t make the 6am start time there’s a combination of paid and free training groups listed on the Splash Series website for all locations as well as training schedules and programs to whip you into splashing shape.

Running alongside the Sydney Harbour Splash is the Australia Swims challenge, where collectively Australians aim to swim around the nation over the course of 9 days. The Sydney Splash is an all ages all ability friendly event running for its’ 3rd year on January 26th. Sydney Splashers are encouraged to register for Australia Swims and help us accomplish our goal of swimming around Australia whilst swimming next to an Australian icon. With a science route specifically designed for the Splash, kicking off from Rose Bay and following the coastline participants are treated to stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and iconic Sydney city sights.
